EDUCATION
The primary avenue through which every child can be given the opportunity to overcome the mishaps of social and economic inequality, borne out of unintended and intended injustices, is education.
In line with our transformation agenda, we will revisit and review the curriculum of our Primary and Tertiary levels of education, along with their existing learning instructions.
The primary objective of this review will be to ascertain whether the existing education curriculum, instruction, and infrastructure are appropriate and ‘fit for purpose‘ for the country’s economic, social, political, and environmental development aspirations.
Areas of immediate interest for review will include the Education Sector Policy, National Tertiary & Higher Education Policy, and the TVET Roadmap.
We will incorporate, at the Tertiary Level, a Meritocracy Scholarship scheme aligned with the identified industrial anchors and prioritised fields of specialisation outlined in our Manifesto.
Our ideology on education will be guided by ‘Education for All’ with an emphasis on an education that is relevant, qualitative, and entrepreneurial in outlook, rather than the existing end of ‘seeking a job.’
This entrepreneurial outlook shall be aligned with our Small Business Administration objective to position the Private Sector as the engine of economic growth.
As a Party, we recognise the relevance of education in the Sciences, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). We will establish the first secondary and tertiary STEM schools in the country.
We will build one in every region of the country, attracting the best and brightest talents (students) at the primary level.
This scheme will fuel our aspiration to harness, nurture, and build interest among our young in the sciences, ultimately promoting and realising our long-term economic development aspirations of becoming a science & technology-driven society spearheaded by our own citizens.
